BACKSTORY
"My life’s at a different pace. Every look in the mirror I’m seeing a different face."
DASE is an alternative gospel artist raised in Dallas, TX. A multifaceted talent, she is a singer, songwriter, and producer who blends influences from Nigerian worship, R&B, jazz, and alternative rock to create an ethereal and transcendent sonic experience. Her musical inspiration stems from iconic artists like Rihanna, Demi Lovato, Frank Ocean, and Kanye West. With a unique voice and a vision rooted in authenticity and spirituality, DASE invites listeners on a journey of introspection, healing, and divine connection. Her music journey began at the tender age of nine. Growing up, she found her voice and passion in her church choir, where she not only developed her singing skills but also learned the power of community and expression through music. Despite facing early challenges with her voice, she persevered and achieved a significant milestone in 2015, winning 1st place for her moving rendition of “Trouble of the World” at the Texas Charter School Competition. This recognition served as a turning point, fueling her determination to continue pursuing her musical dreams.

In 2020, DASE took her leadership to new heights by founding a Black History Month gospel choir. She directed the group, guiding students to perform for a show attended by hundreds. This experience reinforced her belief in the importance of uplifting others through music, even as she grappled with uncertainty about her career path.
It wasn’t until her senior year of college in 2021 that DASE decided to fully embrace her passion. Taking a leap of faith, she applied to Berklee College of Music, the only institution she considered. To her delight, she was not only accepted but also awarded a substantial grant from her state, validating her decision. Since joining Berklee, DASE has performed in three shows at the Berklee Performance Center, captivating audiences and spreading her heartfelt message of love and hope. Committed to being a transformative force in the music
industry, she strives to create an environment that fosters authenticity and compassion for artists. With aspirations to establish her own record label, DASE aims to inspire a cultural shift that encourages kindness and respect, using her music to cultivate a world where artists and their messages can thrive.
